About Us:

The Fletcher Allen Health Care Gastroenterology and Hepatology (GI) Unit is dedicated to providing outstanding management of diseases of the esophagus, stomach, intestine, liver and pancreas.  The Unit’s goals are to deliver exceptional patient care, to generate advances in the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of these disorders, and to train the next generation of specialists in digestive diseases.

Fletcher Allen Health Care is the teaching hospital of the University of Vermont. We are the largest and most comprehensive digestive disease specialty group in Vermont and northeastern New York.  The faculty members of the GI Unit are recognized, in particular, for expertise in inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, and endoscopic therapy.  These clinical strengths are complemented by active basic, translational, and patient-oriented research programs.
