Going Home
- Planning for discharge is an important part of your hospital stay
- In order to assist you with settling in at home, we strive for morning discharges
- You will be provided with a discharge time and be given a Discharge Reminder
- Our goal is to have your paperwork completed so we can review it with you and your family when they arrive
- We will review your medications, follow-up care and other discharge information
- Please ask your family members or friends to arrive prior to scheduled time
- If you have concerns about going home or are unable to arrange for a ride, please discuss with your nurse
- We can assist with prescriptions; the Outpatient Pharmacy is located on Level 3 (street level) of the Ambulatory Care Center, or we can call your local pharmacy
Note: If you are planning on having a surgical procedure, for outpatient please click "what to expect for outpatient surgical procedure". For inpatient, please click "what to expect for inpatient surgical procedure".
We also encourage patients to "speak up" and be active participants in their health care. To view the Speak up brochure, please click here.
Please see the list in our visitors guide of local places to stay while in the Burlington area.
